Rachel is a beautiful 10 year old girl who is battling leukemia. She is the sweetest little girl you will ever meet. On June 18, 2011 Rachel was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) after performing a bone marrow aspirate and finding leukemia cells in her marrow.
Rachel was immediately admitted to the hospital where she spent 44 days in patient. During this time Rachel suffered a punctured lung while undergoing surgery to have her port installed. She then needed surgery to have a chest tube inserted to drain the fluid from her lungs in addition to twice daily chest xrays.
The chemo takes a toll on her little body. She doesn’t feel well most of the time and tires easily. She enjoys playing with her webkins, reading and listening to music. Rachel’s treatment will be approximately 2 years.
This horrible disease has been devastating and overwhelming for Rachel and her family. Nothing could ever prepare anyone for this diagnosis.
To assist with the mounting costs, The Laughs for Rachel Benefit Comedy Show and Auction has been organized. This 18+ event will include:
